Let’s get real.
Creating a financially successful business does not happen overnight.
Starting your own business, for most of us, will most likely require many sacrifices.
Most often, as entrepreneurs, we are called upon to make sacrifices of great value and of great worth.
Sacrifices such as, spending less time with our families, stressing over uncertain futures, forfeiting lucrative careers, down-sizing our lifestyles, and of course, investing our own personal savings.
Because you are here on this website, you have already expressed an interest in starting your own business.
The question is, are you prepared for the sacrifices that lay ahead?
We realize the great challenges entrepreneurs will undertake, which is why it is of the utmost importance that you, as an aspiring entrepreneur, conduct thorough research of your endeavor and communicate clearly and completely with your spouse and your children the challenges that lay ahead.
Your family must be aware of the sacrifices that are likely to take place, such as less vacations, less dining out, and whatever ‘extras’ you and your family may be accustomed to, may have to be sacrificed as well.
Your spouse must not only be clear of the possible sacrifices, but also, must be willing to serve as your strongest supporter and help garner understanding from your children, if children are involved.
If you are unmarried and have no children, then, as an entrepreneur, consider this a ‘benefit’ as you begin your business endeavor.
However, do not think that you are absolved of sacrifice.
Your willingness to start a business will still require your time and commitment, which means sacrificing your time spent with friends, your time spent on entertaining, your time spent watching your favorite cable shows, your personal social gatherings, and not to mention, investing your own personal cash.
Regardless of married or single, when you start your own business, you must prepare to give most, if not all, of your time and energy towards the start, growth, and prosperity of your new business.
Your business will not grow and thrive without you, and if you are not willing and able to invest a good amount of time and energy towards building and growing your business, then maybe, you should consider NOT starting your business at all. That is of course until there comes a time that you are prepared to make the sacrifices necessary.
DO NOT FALL for the commercial hype about ‘get rich quick schemes’ on radio, the internet, and late-night-television shows.
You cannot expect to replace your full-time-salary working just a few short hours per week. There is no such thing as plug-and-play-success! It does not exist!
It is absolutely critical that you understand the enormous amount of sacrifice in personal time and commitment required to start and grow a successful business.
It can be done, but you must prepare and be ready to sacrifice.
